Davey Turnhout // Comedians // Comedy Cafe

Davey Turnhout

Davey Turnhout

With his boyish and relaxed appearance, you would almost forget that Davey Turnhout is someone with a black sense of humor.

Davey’s jokes are sometimes harsh, but always delivered with a lot of love. He has recently turned thirty, understands little of himself or the world around him and has spent the last few years on stage more often at night than at his girlfriend’s house. (Which, by the way, his girlfriend doesn’t seem to mind at all.)

Raised near Leiden, he is now an import Amsterdammer. He draws inspiration from his daily life and experiences. Davey Turnhout won jury prize at the Amsterdam Student Cabaret Festival 2019 in a packed DeLaMar theater and he was also named ‘Roastbaas 2017’ at Dutch Roast Battles in the Comedy Café Amsterdam.

Davey Turnhout was seen on television at First (Ziggo) and SBS6.

Dave Felida

Dave Felida

Dave Felida is a rare beast. A bony mutant, from prehistory and the future at the same time. His personality is a combination of innocence and perversity.

Known for the Reutelpuppy podcast, he was a finalist at Comedy Slam 2018 and brought the most creative joke at the Dutch Roast Battles at Comedy Café Amsterdam.

Tobi Kooiman

Tobi Kooiman

Tobi Kooiman is a comedian, stand-up comedian, mathematician and stoic, and in 2019 he won the Audience Award at the Cameretten cabaret festival, where the jury spoke of “a true feast for the theater visitor” and newspaper NRC appreciated his “talent for a coherent story, clever jokes and striking reasoning.”

His first solo performance, Best Of, premiered in 2021 in De Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam and immediately received ★★★★★ from cabaret.nl – that hadn’t happened since 2019! “What a refreshing wind Tobi Kooiman blows. (…) Although you must have had a number of ‘hits’ for a ‘Best Of’, there are already in abundance with this first performance.” Newspaper De Volkskrant also called him “a personality with a witty, idiosyncratic view of the world” and de Theaterkrant wrote: “The insight we get into that clever, special head of his is original and funny. (…) I hope those children will come. Because I can already look forward to the programs that will result.

Dirk Waterreus // Comedians // Comedy Cafe

Dirk Waterreus

Dirk Waterreus

Dirk Waterreus is a surprise to most people. With a Brabant accent, he plays out original characters, unexpected jokes and absurd fantasies.

Dirk thinks that not only Germans are allowed to speak with a German accent and he is usually very satisfied with the position of his glasses. He may purposely create awkward situations and give you the impression that he doesn’t quite realize it, then carry on as if nothing happened. Not averse to placed puns, Dirk takes you into his cosmos, in which he is happy to give you a tour in his own way and pace. Stumbling on the leg you used to get out of bed in the morning, you lie back on it in the evening, wondering who Dirk Waterreus actually is. Don’t be afraid, he will come and tell you soon.

Fuad Hassen // Comedians // Comedy Cafe

Fuad Hassen

Fuad Hassen

This quirky self-made man, with roots in Eritrea, is high in the top 10 most likable Dutch comedians. With his captivating personality and alternation in calmness and voice raising, it seems as if Fuad Hassen has never done anything other than standing in front of a red curtain with a microphone.

The comedian has a hard time being a gangster in the winter, likes bitter espresso and hates an overkill of cats. He is a master at playing out situations. Whether it’s a stuttering phone conversation or a debate about men who are not allowed to do yoga. With his dynamic voice he takes you into his world full of personal stories with an engaged edge. His intense facial expression will haunt you for days to come, as will the witty remarks he bounces back to the audience. Fuad talks about the little things in life and after seeing his show you will never eat apples in the quiet compartment again.

Fuad won the Culture Comedy Award in 2008 and was in the final of Cameretten in 2013. You may know him from his debut performance Pareidolia and Fuad was featured in the BNN/VARA programs ‘Rare Jongens’ and ‘Spaanders’. 2019 had his weekly item on ‘Is there a doctor in the hall’ on RTL4.
